From January 15, 2024, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, through June 19, 2024, in celebration of Juneteenth, Uncle Nearest will partner with bars, restaurants, retailers, e-commerce platforms, and its loyal #WhiskeyFamily to raise up to $1.4 million. The goal? To provide one full tuition scholarship to every accredited Historically Black College and University (HBCU) nationwide for in-state students at public institutions.

A Toast to Legacy: The Story Behind Uncle Nearest

Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey honors the legacy of Nathan "Nearest" Green, the first known African-American master distiller. Nearest Green's story is deeply intertwined with the history of Jack Daniel's, as he was the man who taught a young Jack Daniel the craft of distilling. The brand Uncle Nearest is dedicated to preserving and celebrating this incredible history, ensuring that Nearest Green's contributions to the whiskey industry are remembered and revered.

The HBCU Old Fashioned Challenge is an initiative designed to blend the rich traditions of whiskey making with the vital cause of supporting education for Black students. Here’s how it works:

Duration: The challenge runs from January 15, 2024 (MLK Jr. Day) to June 19, 2024 (Juneteenth).
